Homemade Samoas Bars

Ingredients for Base:

Take half cup of sugar, three-quarter of butter (softened type), one large size hen egg, half teaspoon vanilla extract, two cups of ordinary flour, quarter teaspoon salt

 Ingredients for topping:

Take three cups of coconut (cored), twelve oz of chewy caramels, a quarter teaspoon of salt, three tablespoons of milk, dark chocolate (10 oz), also chocolate chips could be a substitute for dark chocolate.

Preparation:

Make your oven heat at 350°. Take a 9 inch by 13-inch baking pan and grease inside. Now mix cream together with sugar, butter until well-mixed, then add egg and vanilla extract and beat well. Now put flour into this mixture and continue mixing until dough can be formed.

Make some dough and put them into the pan. Bake them in the oven for around half an hour. They should be brown by then, the base should set. Now cool them before topping.

Now it turns for topping.

For this heat your oven at 300°. Sprinkle coconut smoothly and evenly on a baking sheet and toast in oven for 15 to 20 minutes, stir each 5 minutes until coconut turns golden. Cool them on a baking sheet with a continuous stir and set aside.

Take milk in a bowl, add salt into it and put caramels put into the microwave oven. For first 3 to 4 minutes cook at high temperature and let the caramel melt. When the mixture is smooth fold into coconut using a spatula.

Put topping all over, using a spatula making it an even layer. Let it cool down. When no more hot, make 30 bars with a knife. Once cut melt the chocolate in a bowl, heat high in the oven, stir thoroughly. Dip each bar into chocolate and put on clean wax paper. Let chocolate set on the bars and preserve in an airtight container.
